Hi there 👋,
Have you noticed how native speakers sound so natural when they speak — their ideas just flow? It’s not magic. It’s because they use connector words effortlessly.
Words like so, but, because, although, and however help connect thoughts smoothly.
Instead of saying,
“I was tired. I went home.”
You could say,
“I was tired, so I went home.”
Or,
“I was tired, but I still went out with my friends.”
You can also use words like because, although, however, and therefore in your conversations.
For example: “I stayed home because it was raining,” or “I wanted to go out, although I was tired.”
These small connectors make your speech sound polished, fluent, and easy to follow. Try noticing how often native speakers use them — even in short conversations or movies.
I’ve written a few more simple lessons like this on my blog — you might enjoy them.
Simple changes, big improvement in how you sound.
Quick question:
Which connector word do you use most often — so, but, or because?
Hit “Reply” and tell me your answer. I’d love to see what comes naturally to you.
Until next time,
