Have you ever been stuck mid-conversation because your brain was busy translating from your native language into English?

🤯 By the time you form the sentence, the moment is already gone

Good news: fluent speakers don’t translate — they think directly in English. And you can too.

🔑 3 Steps to Train Your Brain to Think in English

1. Use “Micro-Thoughts” in English

Start small. Instead of saying in your native language “I need water” then translating, practice directly thinking “I’m thirsty”.
👉 The trick: narrate simple daily actions in English (e.g., “I’m cooking rice,” “That’s a blue car”).

2. Learn in Phrases, Not Words

Translating single words creates broken sentences. Instead, focus on ready-to-use phrases like:

  • “Can you give me a hand?” (help me)

  • “I’m running late.” (I’ll be late)
These patterns make your brain recall English chunks, not translations.

3. Switch Your Input to English

Change your phone settings, watch movies with English subtitles, listen to short podcasts. The more English in, English out, the faster your brain adapts.

🚀 Why This Works

When you stop translating, English stops being a “second language” and starts being the language of thought. That’s when fluency feels natural.

I’ve actually written a separate, detailed blog post that breaks down 7 powerful strategies for thinking in English. If you’d like to go deeper, you can read it here:
